Brow Lift with Botox
Our aesthetic surgeon, Serdar Bora Bayraktaroğlu, explains Botox treatment for individuals experiencing brow drooping.
Who Is a Good Candidate for a Botox Brow Lift?
Gravity is powerful—nearly impossible to defeat. And our eyebrows are no exception. As we age, gravity and time begin to pull the brows downward. That’s why the forehead and brow area often become major aesthetic concerns as the years go by.
Many people don’t realize how profoundly the appearance of the forehead affects the entire face. Over time, repetitive facial expressions deepen wrinkles and alter our natural expression. As we age, not only do wrinkles and volume loss appear in the forehead, but the brows also begin to descend—giving the face a tired, stern, or even angry look.
For this reason, women and men over the age of 40 who experience drooping brows are excellent candidates for a Botox brow lift.
A Non-Surgical Solution
Before considering surgery, we generally recommend non-surgical treatments such as Botox and dermal fillers.
While the ultimate solution for a significantly sagging brow is a surgical brow lift, it is absolutely possible to raise the brows to some extent non-surgically.
Botox applied around the eye area can subtly lift the brows, creating a refreshed and rested expression. In many cases, issues in this region can be corrected using a combination of Botox and fillers. Preventive treatments performed at an early age also make future management easier for both the patient and the surgeon.
Botox is a simple and effective method for non-surgical brow lifting.
It not only lifts the brows—it also relaxes forehead wrinkles, elevates drooping brows, and improves the appearance of excess upper eyelid skin.
Injecting a small amount of Botox into the lateral brow area is enough to lift the outer brow. When combined with injections around the eyes, the treatment reduces crow’s feet and fine lines while giving a more elevated brow contour. Targeted injections across the forehead allow us to gently lift the area and achieve a youthful, elegant appearance.
The result: a fresher, more refined expression.
Achieving a Graceful Look with Botox
When performed incorrectly, Botox can cause the infamous “Mr. Spock” or “Jack Nicholson” look.
However—when performed by experienced hands—the results are natural, subtle, and virtually undetectable.
We occasionally see patients who come in with an unnatural ‘Spock effect’ from previous treatments elsewhere. Fortunately, such issues are easy to correct. This is why choosing an experienced aesthetic surgeon is crucial. The practitioner must understand the patient’s anatomy, lifestyle, and specific needs in order to deliver a balanced and beautiful outcome.
When done properly, those around you will notice that you look fresh—not “done.”
Is There Any Downtime After the Procedure?
As with any cosmetic injection, mild swelling or slight bruising can occur in some individuals.
After the treatment:
- Drink plenty of water
- Avoid bending forward
- Protect the treated area from pressure or trauma
Other than that, there is no significant discomfort, pain, or downtime. The procedure is very comfortable.
How Long Do Botox Brow Lift Results Last?
The effects of Botox begin to appear within three days as the botulinum toxin starts interacting with the muscles.
The results typically last four to six months, depending on the individual. During this period, the patient enjoys a smoother, lifted, more refreshed look.
Final Note
Botox and fillers deliver excellent results in individuals with mild to moderate brow or forehead sagging. They are highly effective for rejuvenating the upper face and elevating the brows.
However, in cases of advanced sagging, the definitive solution will be surgery.
