Which Breast Aesthetic Method Looks the Most Natural?

Which is More Natural: Under The Muscle or Under The
Breast?

Because there are so many urban legends on this subject, I wanted to explain it
in detail and clear up any confusion.

Without any mystery, let me say right away that both
methods can yield the most natural and best results. The key is using the
right method for the right patient.

I’d like to share some of the questions I frequently get
from my patients. I believe this will answer most of your concerns on this
topic.

Round or Teardrop?

When it comes to breast implants, choosing the shape—round
or teardrop—doesn’t create a significant difference in your final outcome. Both
types of implants can appear natural when properly selected and placed in the
correct anatomical location for the right patient.

We plastic surgeons decide whether to use round or teardrop
implants after assessing the patient’s body measurements.

Neither type of implant has an inherent advantage or
disadvantage in achieving a natural result.

Under the Breast, at the Areola, or in the Armpit?

Breast implants can be placed using an incision in any of
these three locations.

In my view, the most successful and reliable method—the one
that works best for virtually every breast shape—is to make the incision in the
breast fold. This approach offers the most advantages in terms of
outcome and safety.

Can I Still Breastfeed?

After breast implant surgery, patients can continue to
breastfeed. Having breast surgery does not prevent you from nursing.

Will I Lose Sensation in My Nipples?

No. Typically, there is no issue with loss of nipple
sensation after breast surgery.

Do I Have to Replace My Implants Every Few Years?

New-generation breast implants can remain in your body for a
lifetime. So, no—you are not required to replace them periodically.

If I Get Implants, Will My Breasts Sag?

One of the more surprising questions I get is about whether
implants cause sagging. Breast implants do not cause sagging (unless you
choose extremely large implants, like 1,000 cc).

However, women’s breasts can sag or deform over time due to
aging, pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight gain/loss, and other factors.

Can My Implant Rupture?

Breast implants don’t spontaneously rupture. New-generation
implants come with a rupture-free guarantee from the manufacturer. However,
accidents or injuries involving sharp objects can damage your implant.

Do Breast Implants Cause Breast Cancer?

Breast implants do not cause breast cancer.
