What is a pore? How do we tighten the pores in the skin?
Pores are small channels that help the skin breathe and stay moist. However, the recessed structures of the pores may start to become large pores over time due to makeup, dirt, and accumulated toxins.
Although the most important factor affecting pore size is genetic characteristics, the pores of oily skins with high oil production are large, while the pores of skins with low oil production are small. The accumulation of dirt on the skin can also cause the pores to expand due to clogging. The amount of collagen, which begins to decrease due to sunlight and aging, paves the way for sagging skin. This causes a downward expansion, causing the pores to become prominent. In addition, lack of moisture can also cause the pores to expand and become prominent.
What are Pore Tightening Applications?
For better looking and discreet pores, and to avoid the pores causing different skin problems, you can use different applications under the name of pore tightening. Here are some of these applications:
⁃ Regular peeling
⁃ Clay masking
⁃ Using care products containing alpha-hydroxy acids
⁃ Dermapen application
Although we regularly apply peeling and masking at home to get rid of pores, the pore tightening applications do not provide complete tightening and reduction. But those applications can help the pores become cleaner and less noticeable. The best, most professional, and most successful application in this area is the Dermapen procedure.
What Does Dermapen Do?
Dermapen is used to treat skin issues (acne, skin rejuvenation, large pores, thin lines, sunspots, scars, etc.) and skin cracks. It helps the reconstruction of skin and the strengthening of collagen tissue. Dermapen (Micro needling) treatment is mostly applied to the face.
Benefits of Dermapen Application on Face
• Acne scars,
• Sunspots,
• Thin lines and wrinkles,
• Large pores,
• Other scar types,
• Increasing the weakened skin elasticity,
• Correction of skin irregularities.
How is Dermapen Performed?
Before the Dermapen application, the skin is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. Before the Dermapen procedure, your expert will apply an anesthesia cream for pain relief. This cream is applied approximately 10 minutes before your treatment. Micro-channels are opened on the skin with an automatic, vibrating needling technique to increase the absorption level and treatment effect of these substances. During the Dermapen treatment, your expert sticks small needles under the skin with a pen-like tool. The needles are so small that you will most probably not notice them after the procedure. Your expert will evenly move the tool on your skin, and this way your rejuvenated new skin will heal evenly. When necessary, hyaluronic acid, mesotherapy solutions, and PRP can be applied to the Dermapen application area. The Dermapen (micro-needling) treatment takes approximately half an hour.
What are the things I should consider after the Dermapen application?
⁃ There should be no contact with water for 24 hours,
⁃ Sun protection cream should be applied and replenished with intervals of 2-3 hours,
⁃ The patient should avoid sunlight for 1 week,
⁃ The patient should not touch the application area after the procedure,
⁃ No epilating wax should be applied within 2 weeks after the procedure, and no applications causing the skin to peel, such as peeling, etc., should be performed within 1 week after the procedure,
⁃ Recommended minimum time for makeup is 12 hours.
Can I use vitamin C serum after the Dermapen procedure?
You should avoid using retinol vitamin A and C serums for at least 48 hours after the Dermapen application. The best serum to use after the treatment is hyaluronic acid. 3 full days after the Dermapen treatment, you can continue with your standard skin care routines.
What is Vitamin C and What Does It Do? Why Should We Use Vitamin C?
Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin. It is also a strong antioxidant.
Vitamin C provides the skin with many benefits. For example, it contributes to minimizing thin line appearance and protecting the moisture rate of the skin. It also helps regulate uneven skin tone and reduce formations such as acne. Especially the vitamin C serums with protection factors contribute to protecting the skin from the harmful effects of the sun.
How should we use vitamin C?
It is recommended to start vitamin C at a 10% rate. High rates should be avoided to prevent skin irritation. It is necessary to consider vitamin C serum as a part of daily care and apply it without modifying the routine. It should be applied as a maximum 4-5 drops in the morning and sun protection cream should be applied on it.
