In the summer issue of VOX, you will find my horoscope interpretations for June, July and August 2024. We can say that the summer of 2024 is calmer than the spring, but of course, there are still planets changing signs, planetary accumulations, retrogrades and harsh aspects. Although I usually talk about one of the celestial movements, this time, I would like to emphasise some of the wrong questions that are asked when it comes to astrology. Maybe this way, we can manage to look at astrology from the right perspective.
When I started to learn astrology, the first thing I realised was that astrology is not what is imposed on us through the media. So, what is astrology actually all about? Let me explain it to you by answering the wrong questions about astrology.
”Can the planets influence us?”
The main reason for this question is the wrong definition of astrology and the widespread dissemination of this wrong definition. I am attaching here the definition of astrology that I took from Wikipedia: ”Astrology is a pseudoscience without scientific reality that deals with the proposition that celestial bodies and astronomical phenomena have effects on human character and destiny.”
First of all, we should know that astrology today does not consider that celestial bodies and astronomical phenomena have an influence on human character and destiny. This is a linguistic habit left over from polytheistic beliefs. Unfortunately, astrologers are the reason for the continuation of this habit. The bottom line is that the gravitational attraction of the planets is not enough to influence human character and destiny; anyway, astrology is not designed for the gravitational attraction of a planet. Believe me, while I am writing these columns, I can influence you more than Pluto does.
Astrology is a language of symbols. As the mathematician and philosopher Pythagoras said, ”the planets are letters”. Astrology is based on the sameness of the earth and the sky. In other words, the microcosm and the macrocosm move in the same way. What occurs in one, also occurs in the other. Humankind discovered this thousands of years ago, and realised that if he/she could read the changes in the macrocosm, he/she could predict the changes in the microcosm, that is, in his/her own world, and take precautions to ensure the continuation of his/her species. In other words, astrology is a letter system based on this parallelism, that is, a symbolic language, and the planets are the letters that describe the possibilities of a person’s character and destiny. In other words, because it is a language, astrology is neither science nor pseudoscience.
”Do you believe in astrology?”
This is one of the most wrong questions that can be asked about astrology. While answering the previous question, we learnt that astrology is actually a language. Now let’s take a look at the meaning of the verb ”believe” from the Turkish Language Association dictionary:
‘’1. To adopt something as true; 2. To know someone as truthful, to trust; 3. To accept the existence and truthfulness of something; 4. To know as the highest being to love, trust and be attached to, to believe; 5. To be deceived by being mistaken; 6. To believe.’
Since astrology is a language, let’s make a change in the question ”Do you believe in astrology?” and replace the word ”astrology” with the word ”Italian,” which is a language.
I ask and leave the answer to you:
”Do you believe in Italian?”
”What is your zodiac sign?”
This is one of the most common wrong questions. Still, I can understand it a little more because astrology used to be a complex language that was only readable by scientists of the time. It had to be simplified a little in order to find a place in the media of the recent past and today.
What is actually meant by the question ”What is your zodiac sign?” is the sign in which the Sun was in the Tropical Zodiac when you were born. But when we look at your birth chart, which we call horoscope, there are 12 zodiac signs, 10 celestial bodies, two of which are light, and 12 ”houses”. In other words, when we take a photograph of the sky from the planet Earth at the moment you were born, what we see is you. In more romantic terms, ”you are the embodiment of a moment.” In terms of astrology, it is impossible for you to consist of a single zodiac sign and to be defined accordingly. As a result, ”you don’t have a sign, you don’t have a sign!” You have the sign of your Sun, the sign of your Moon, the sign of your Mercury, the sign of your Ascendant, the sign of your 2nd house, the sign of your 10th house… and everyone has a horoscope of 12 signs in total. And I’m so sorry, whatever sign you don’t like, you have that sign too!
I hope I have been able to explain to you a little bit what astrology actually is. Believe me, astrology is a treasure trove of information that helps us understand the universe.
Nevertheless, I would like you to know that celestial bodies are the only tools that give us the opportunity to observe our lives. For this reason, do not forget that you have the will to shape your destiny!
ARIES
June: In the lives of siblings, cousins, friends, in short, people in your close circle, issues such as moving, moving house, getting married or starting education, which is not supported by family elders, may come up. On the other hand, you may look for ways to realise your own goals.
July: Home and family life might be on your agenda. Although unknown issues may arise, you may manage to strike a balance at the end of the day. At the same time, unforeseen renovation issues may come up, and expenses may increase. In order to avoid disappointment, it would be useful to keep logic in hand.
August: Your love life may revive. You might feel the need to entertain yourself and want to get together with your friends often. You may tend to blame the people in your group for the reason you feel restricted. Your ties with your environment may break because of this misconception.
TAURUS
June: You may find a way to make new financial gains through social media or any online platform, and you may feel the courage to take steps to do so. It will be useful to blend the new information you have learnt with the knowledge you already have.
July: You may organise entertainment in a closed place with siblings, cousins, and people in your close circle. You might feel pressured by them and avoid expressing your thoughts. Before starting a new education, you should take care to choose a course that suits your learning method.
August: New beginnings in family and home life may be in question; you might get renovations done, buy new furniture, or perhaps move to a nicer house. You may quit your job because your financial expectations are not met, or you may start working in a place where you feel better.
GEMINI
June: You may want to assert yourself both in your career and social life. You may want to try new things about your appearance. Beware of skin burns in this period. Even if it is beyond your budget, you should definitely leave yourself in good hands for your beauty operations.
July: You’re in a period where you focus on increasing your earnings, saving and investing. While doing this, it would be safer to get support from an expert rather than handling it by yourself. You can settle your debts. It will be useful to be cautious when you are asked for a loan.
August: You may support people in your close circle to help them succeed. You may begin writing a children’s book. You might overdo some things and upset the balance between your family responsibilities and your career goals. You should focus on yourself on a new education and discovering new things.
CANCER
June: Holiday bells are ringing for you. You should be careful not to run to the hospital with skin burns while trying new things in the open air and at sea. You may have new realisations about the nature of your relationship, and you may tend to blame the other party. You might find an opportunity for a relationship.
July: The doctor to whom you can entrust yourself with peace of mind for the change you’ve been wanting to make about your appearance may come to your doorstep. You may realise that your heart is shifting to different people, and you may end your relationship for this reason. You might have the opportunity to move to a new place.
August: You may take new steps to increase your earnings; however, you should pay special attention to the promises made and the agreements you sign. The news you expect may be delayed. Unexpected situations related to debt, inheritance, and investments may arise. You might have an agenda, such as dismissal or being dismissed.
LEO
June: You may join an association, foundation or any new group and find opportunities to showcase your talents. You may realise what your daily routines are that stand in the way of your career and take new steps in this regard. You might make a lot of sacrifices regarding money to protect your health.
July: You may want to go into isolation. You may undergo operations related to reproductive organs and have liposuction or fillers. You might resign from your job, decide to change jobs or come to the end of a task. You may also get rid of a health problem.
August: You’re in a period of self-care. If you make an effort, you may grow in the group you are in and have a say there. You might receive financial support from your siblings. Problems related to your relationship may come up suddenly; you should be careful not to say hurtful words that can’t be returned.
VIRGO
June: You may gain a new title in areas related to writing, drawing, travelling, and learning. You may decide to change your career, and a change in your status may occur. It’s time for you to show your talents in the team you are a part of. There may be a transition from friendship to an emotional relationship.
July: You may receive great support from your partner and friends in achieving your goals; nevertheless, your success will depend on how much you take ownership of the matter. Success won’t be handed to you on a golden platter. You may come to the end of a flirtation and experience disappointment with relationships.
August: It’s time for a rest. You could go on holiday or lock yourself up at home and set a course for your goals. You may step into a serious relationship or break up. You will be able to determine the cause of your health problems and organise your daily routines accordingly.
LIBRA
June: You may feel the urge to go travelling and explore the unknown. You might go on holiday to the neighbouring countries and start studying a foreign language. You may participate in a hobby course in a field that you have never tried before. You may take on the financial burden of your family and start home renovations.
July: You may decide to get married or divorced, become a parent, or get a promotion in your job. You might decide to get married or divorced.
August: You may get opportunities to show your talents in public. You can set goals for your children and take steps to achieve them. You may want to become a parent, and you can start the treatments you need to see in this field. You may be vulnerable to deception or being deceived.
SCORPIO
June: There may be new developments regarding inheritance, alimony, debts, and expenses. You may learn that you have been betrayed and decide to end your relationship. The balance in your family relationships may change, and you may realise some truths. You may need to take care of the health of your family elders.
July: Beginning times for foreign cultures, foreign places, and new pieces of training. You may go out of the country due to a duty. You might talk to your superiors about a wage increase. You might eliminate some people from your close circle. You should be careful about the words that come out of your mouth due to disappointment.
August: You may get a promotion, start a business or take on a new position. You may feel that things are going wrong for a while, and you may feel hopeless. Knowing that this will be short-lived, you should act calmly and slowly. You may change houses because of a dispute with the landlord.
SAGITTARIUS
June: You may start a new relationship, or get married despite your family’s objections; you may form a business partnership, take counselling or give counselling. You may decide to talk to your superiors about the inadequacy of your salary for the work you do, and you may be pleased with the outcome.
July: You may incur big expenses for others. You should be careful about emotional expenses and learn to stretch your feet according to your comforter. Your financial problem may disappear or you may become clear about how to solve this problem. You might be inclined to deceive or lie.
August: You are open to travelling abroad, learning about foreign cultures, and learning new education and courses with your partner during this period. You may witness your ex-lover knocking on your door; you may receive an offer from your former workplace. There might be a ‘’next from the ex‘’ situation, but you should evaluate the conditions carefully. There may be shocking situations related to your sibling’s relationship.
CAPRICORN
June: You may be in a period when your workload increases, and you have to deal with more than one task at a time, which may leave you open to communication breakdowns. You may be mentally tired; so some of your addictions may get out of control. You might be neglectful of taking care of your appearance.
July: You may make new decisions related to your relationship and decide to become a parent. You may consult a relationship counsellor or start a new relationship. You may distance yourself from the people in your close circle and exclude some of them from your life. You may try a hairstyle that you have never done before.
August: You may have expenses related to children. Communication breakdowns you will experience in your working life may return to you as financial losses. Although you may feel inadequate, the support you will receive from your family will provide you with financial relief. If you do not have a pregnancy plan, you may need to be more careful about this matter.
AQUARIUS
June: You may become a parent. There could be a good development in your children’s lives. You may have the opportunity to profit from your talents. You may feel the need for seclusion. You should pay special attention to taking rest for your health. It’s important that you continue to save money.
July: You may have a re-occurrence of a disease related to your reproductive organs; you can get rid of this problem by undergoing an operation. There may be a crisis in your relationship; you might take an irreversible path. You may not receive the money you expect; a job may be cancelled. You may want to keep to your inner self due to stress.
August: You may find a new school for your child’s education. Misunderstandings and incomprehensions may happen to you as you will be open to communication accidents; in such a case, support would come from your siblings. You might have to move. You may realise that there are aspects of yourself that you need to change.
PISCES
June: You may change homes or jobs, or buy technological equipment for your home. You might be torn between your family and yourself. You may feel unloving and not want to show affection to anyone. You may join a new group and prefer to stay one step behind instead of showing yourself there.
July: If you are planning to become a parent, it might happen this month. There may be a good development regarding your children. You may pick up a hobby in the field of food and drink. You may quit your team because your task is over, or you may leave your group because you don’t want to be there anymore. You may fulfil a goal.
August: You should not neglect your check-ups for your cardiovascular health. It is useful to see more than one doctor to prevent some problems. You also need to organise your daily routines in a way that gives particular importance to rest. Your star may shine at work. Promotion may come in a short time.
